And post a beautifully orchestrated dinner at the Bikaner House, New Delhifor select media , the collection was shown the next day at a stunning display put together by Bal for discerning list of invitees. Some of the guests in attendance were Suneet Verma, Suhel Seth, JJ Valaya, Mukul Sangma, Rahul Khanna, Neera Nath, Sanjeev and Kavita Bali, Malini Banerjee, Rinku Ghosh, Nupur Mehta Puri, Nandini Bhalla, and Radhika Bhalla.
Known for his understated elegance and timeless classics, Rohit has collaborated for the first time with the artisans and crystal cutters of Czech Republic, Slovakia and Central Europe to create an exclusive crystal collection. The designs, shapes, motifs are all in the classic Rohit Bal styles from lotus gardens to dancing peacocks full of Rohit’s inimitable style and a very strong Indian sensibility that lends itself to incredible European Craftsmanship and hand cut crystals of the finest quality.
The collection is made of 24 percent lead crystal, the best quality in the world and is completely handmade by the artisans and crystal cutters of Bratislava. The collection varies from limited edition tableware to collectible ornamental objects that include bowls, vases, tea sets, platters, salvers, vases and urns. The borders and bases have been crafted in 24 K gold and the pure Platinum. The collection also includes an affordable Tableware range in the form of glasses – champagne flutes, red wine and white wine glasses, water goblets, tumblers for whisky and decanters all in crystal. “This collection is very close to my heart. It is a perfect blend of a strong Indian sensibility and an incredible European heritage of fine handmade crystal. The combination works magically”, says Gudda.
